Sebastian Radu is an unusual kid… perhaps the most unusual young man presently living in America. That’s because he’s a one-hundred-twenty-five-year-old warlock who looks all of eighteen.

Born to a Romanian family of witches, whose lifetimes often extend beyond six hundred years, the Radus have long been at war with another family of similar dark gifts, the Mateis. When the Mateis step up their efforts to wipe the Radus from the face of the earth, Sebastian and his family flee Chicago and head south to the quaint and quirky town of Denmark, Tennessee.

Home to pre-Civil War majestic homes, lingering race issues, and the “World’s Largest Frog Leg Fry”, Denmark is the perfect place to hide… provided the Radus can fit in where life moves at a much slower and ‘non-magical’ pace. Residing in an old plantation house known locally as “Twin Magnolias”, the family begins to settle into the community… until their old enemies show up.

Under the threat of war steeped in deadly sorcery, Sebastian and his family are faced with choices that will affect their well being and the town’s survival. Either they resolve their long and bitter dispute with the Mateis witches… or watch the ancient conflict destroy them all.

Acclaim for the novels of Aiden James

"The intense writing style of Aiden James kept my eyes glued to the story and the pages seemed to fly by at warp speed. ...Twists, turns, and surprises pop up at random times to keep the reader off balance. It all blends together to create one of the best stories I have read all year."
--Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews for "The Devil's Paradise"

"Aiden James has written a deeply psychological, gripping tale that keeps the readers hooked from page one."
--Bookfinds review for "The Forgotten Eden"

"Aiden James writing style flows very easily and I found that "Cades Cove" snowballed into a very gripping tale. Clearly the strengths in the piece were as the spirit's interaction became prevalent with the family... The Indian lore and ceremonies and the flashbacks to Allie Mae's (earthly) demise were very powerful. I think those aspects separated the work from what we've seen before in horror and ghost tales."
--Evelyn Klebert, author of "A Ghost of a Chance" and "Dragonflies"

"Aiden James has a keen eye for detail and an uncanny knack for scaring the hell out of me. We are watching a master at work. "The Raven Mocker" is a nearly perfect thriller. Ghost stories don't get any better than this."
--J.R. Rain, Bestselling author of the "Vampire for Hire" series

"As with the previous titles I have read by this author, I found the author's writing style to be silky smooth and the main plot line to be extremely creative. The fertile imagination of Aiden James definitely knows what today's readers want to see in their stories."
--Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews for "The Vampires' Last Lover"

The Witches Of Denmark eBook Aiden James

I absolutely LOVED this book! When I first read the name of the new series by the multi-talented story teller Aiden James…I thought it would be just an average witches and warlock…cauldrons and spells…people being turned into frogs type of story. But…no…this story is far from your typical witch tale and is so much better for it!
The story is told by Sebastian Radu in a journal type writing. Sebastian, whose friends and family call him Bas, is a one hundred and twenty five year old Warlock who appears to be the age of a normal eighteen year old. Bas is one of the many characters you will meet in this wondrous story. Each and every one of the characters is intricately woven together as Sebastian and his family move from the Chicagoland area to a small town in Tennessee to escape a bloody war that was started many…many years before. The family has to abide by “the code” that was decreed by the Elders in their homeland of Romania, which means that they must live like normal human beings and not use witchcraft or at least not be observed using it.
What ensues in the story after they relocate is an entertaining…fun…action packed at times story that will keep you reading until the very end and wanting more.
I have read many of Mr. James’ books and I have to say…Welcome To Denmark is by far my most favorite so far. The detailed descriptions of the town…the homes…the captivating characters is like watching a movie in your mind! Aiden James has written an engrossing tale with his magical writing skills that will leave you wanting more! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series which I’m sure will be filled with more of the magic that was found in this first book! Thank you Mr. James for weaving your magic into this fantastic story!

The Witches Of Denmark eBook Aiden James Reviews

THIS IS A FUN READ! I've read several other of Aiden James's books and this one is just pure enjoyment! Denmark, Tennessee what a town and what a cast of characters. The writing is so clear that I can almost see this big ole' civil war era mansion as if it were right across the street.

This one is exciting in a very laid back and comfortable style, almost like grandmas rocker fitted with a whoopee cushion.
If Cades Cove kept your eyes riveted, then welcome to Denmark will be the embrace of a favorite aunt.

Very Recomended
Great book about trying to fit in while remaining true to yourself. I love the take this author took on witches and warlocks and their magical talents and the unique explanation of their aging process. All the characters were well defined and great in their roles. I felt bad for little Twyla, horses*** harry annoyed me lol, I'm hoping Alisia and Harris get together as well as poor starcrossed lovers Bad and Decianna, horror author Julien and his wife I wished were brought in a little more and grandpa is cunning and very funny. Waiting for the next one so I can find out the next moves in the big family feud between the Radus and Mate is and to see how long Bas and Dacianna stay apart trapped in punishment for their unfortunate desire for one another. Can't wait!
Do you love stories about magic? Welcome To Denmark by Aiden James Is such a story. We learn about the Radus family who are witches and warlocks and why they have moved to Denmark, Tenn. We find Grandma chastising Grandpa for some of the stunts he pulls because the family is trying to lay low because of another family of witches and warlocks who are trying to eleminate the Radus family. We meet the neighbors, one of which is a writer. (Could this be Aiden James in his own novel?) If you area a fan of Twilight and Harry Potter you will surely enjoy Welcome To Denmark. The book is full of magic and also suspense, conflict, and a possible love interest that can cause problems. It is funny at times and will make you laugh while keeping you wanting to learn what will happen next. This is an excelent book that you will totally enjoy.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. "Welcome to Denmark" is written from the view point of a 125-year-old warlock (who appears to be 18 years of age). At the beginning of the book, Sabastian Radu is not happy with his family's decision to uproot the family from Chicago to rural Tennessee in order to escape their arch enemies (a rival family of witches and warlocks). This book is the first in a planned series and by the end of it, I was eager to see what happens to Sabastian and his family in the upcoming books. I enjoyed the fact, that the ending did not leave me hanging - the book felt complete. Normally, I do not like series as some authors seem to just write a story and then "chop it up" into smaller books in order to create a following. NOT so with this book. The story was complete and functions as a stand alone book. Love the new book, Aiden and I look forward to the next one in this series.
One of the first delights you'll find endearing in this book is the voice of the story-teller a combination of the wondrous arrogance of a teenager, coupled with a wisdom beyond his years... at least, seemingly so. But you'll find yourself endeared to his youthful joy coupled with a tiche of sarcasm, that spirtely attitude once felt by us all, before being knocked around too much by the obstacles of the adult world. And you'll find that voice oh! so refreshing!
But behind the voice look family secrets, expertly woven, a bit at a time, into the story. Including the existence of an ancient blood feud.
And, my friends, that is all you'll get from me this time; any more, and something will end up spoiled for you. So this time, I ask that you simply trust me in my prediction that you will love not only the story itself, but also the way it is written. And you'll also enjoy the nearly error-free text of the edition.
While apparently written for teen and adult readers, the book contains nothing that I would likely forbid a younger reader to see. If sufficiently advanced for the reading of it, children are also likely to thoroughly enjoy this book.
